The Dream Of Infinite Life
I was watching a video about Greenland sharks. They are amazing creatures, they might be the creatures with the longest life span. People have discovered one that may have been living for close to 500 years. There is a great video about them on youtube and while watching it I heard the following from the host
..every other creature living and dying, even evolving right beside you. The existential fatigue will become unbearable, life stripped of its urgency and passion drifting in the eternal darkness in your stink filled piss body, Though I suppose they [Greenland sharks] aren’t too concerned about this stuff…

She says that these concepts might not mean anything to the shark, but why do they mean anything to us? Why does life have to have urgency? Why does life always have passion? Why do we accept a limited, quick life with urgency? Why do we glorify such life?
